New Game Announcement!
Hi everyone! I just released a new tabletop roleplaying game for 1-4 players called Forever Witchy. In Forever Witchy, you play as Witches who delve into temples to defeat Daemons and restore balance to their land. You also go on quests and explore dungeons. You cook meals, brew potions, cast spells…all the traditional witchy things!
I’ve playtested it extensively both with a friend and solo, and it works both ways! It was built from the ground up as a solo ttrpg, but it can be played with up to four players. Any more than that and the game gets a bit unbalanced. But I guess in that situation the Game Master could simply add more enemies for you to fight at once to even things out a bit.
There are thirty-six spells for you to learn across six magic disciplines. The magic disciplines are Elementalism, which is your attack spells and elemental spells; Radiance, which is your healing and support spells; Daemonic, which are your spells that cause status effects to your enemies; Necromancy, which allows you to summon undead and revive dead team members; Chronomancy, which has more support spells; and Druidic, which are your utilitarian spells like Water Breathing and Spider Climb.
There are also fifty potions for you to brew with one hundred potion ingredients for you to find. I also include rules for you to create your own custom potions.
As far as enemies, there are plenty of those, across three categories: Easy, Medium, and Hard/Boss. The enemies are quite balanced, because when you encounter Easy enemies, you encounter them in groups of d6, and when you encounter Medium enemies, you encounter them in groups of d4. Hard/Boss enemies are encountered alone.
The mechanics of the game are quite different than my previous games. I was quite inspired by Ironsworn, though I did customize the rules to make it my own. You have three dice that you roll for most checks: two challenge dice and an action die. The challenge dice by default are 2d12s, but you have spells and potions that can affect that number. At the beginning of the game, your action die is a d4, but you can upgrade that number using Skills or potions or spells. You roll 2d12s and your action die, and add any modifiers from your Ability Scores or Stats to your action die, then compare that value to the challenge dice. If the value of your action die is larger than both challenge dice, that’s a strong hit. If it’s only larger than one of your challenge dice, that’s a weak hit. And if it’s smaller than both challenge dice, that’s a total miss. Different spells have different effects based on if you score a strong hit, a weak hit, or a miss.
There’s so much more to the game and I hope you’ll give it a chance! It has been a passion project of mine. I love witches! Making a game about them just came natural to me. If you love witches, too, this might be the game for you!
